All-In-One High-Load Traveller Solution

The Lewmar HTX TB Car with Shackle, Double Control Sheaves, Becket & Cleat is engineered as a fully integrated traveller car for demanding sail-handling applications. Designed for performance cruising yachts and offshore racing vessels, it combines robust load handling, smooth control-line management, compact purchase capability, and positive locking in one refined, system-optimised component.

Track-Bearing (TB) Design

The Track-Bearing (TB) configuration is developed to manage high traveller loads directly through the HTX beam track with exceptional stability. This design delivers predictable, controlled movement along the track, maintaining alignment and responsiveness even under extreme mainsheet tensions. The result is reliable traveller operation on yachts carrying powerful sail plans and operating in dynamic conditions.

Integrated Shackle Attachment

A high-strength, integrated shackle provides a secure and versatile connection point for mainsheet blocks or purchase systems. This direct mechanical interface ensures efficient load transfer and allows flexible rigging layouts, accommodating a wide range of deck configurations and sail-handling arrangements without compromising strength or reliability.

Double Control Line Sheaves for Balanced Handling

Twin precision-engineered control line sheaves enable balanced, low-friction routing of traveller control lines. This dual-sheave configuration promotes even load distribution during trimming and easing, improving responsiveness and feel at the control position while reducing wear on control lines and associated hardware, particularly important in high-load, frequently adjusted traveller systems.

Integrated Becket for Compact Purchase Systems

The built-in becket provides a fixed termination point for control lines, supporting compact cascade or purchase configurations. This allows increased mechanical advantage to be achieved within a minimal footprint, reducing component count and supporting efficient, uncluttered deck layouts on performance-focused yachts.

Positive Cleat Control

An integrated cleat allows control lines to be locked off quickly and securely once trimmed. This positive holding capability enables precise traveller positioning to be maintained under sustained load without reliance on additional deck hardware, improving ergonomics, safety, and confidence during high-workload manoeuvres and frequent sail adjustments.

HTX High-Strength Composite Engineering

Manufactured using Lewmar’s advanced HTX composite technology, the TB Car delivers exceptional strength-to-weight performance. The high-strength composite structure resists deformation, fatigue, corrosion, and UV exposure, making it ideally suited to prolonged use in harsh marine environments while contributing to reduced overall system weight on deck.

Smooth, Reliable Performance

Carefully engineered load paths, bearing interfaces, and sheave geometry ensure consistent, low-friction operation across the HTX beam track. This smooth performance supports accurate sail-shape control, reduced handling effort, and extended service life of traveller tracks, cars, and control lines during intensive sailing.
